In 2012 the Manager of the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn, Paul Mason, passed on to me this collection of programmes from Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre. They date from the late 1930's to the 1960's although most are from the 1950's. Actors at the Rep included Albert Finney, John Neville, Paul Scofield, June Brown, Donald Pleasence, Paul Eddington, Eric Porter, Thelma Barlow, Paul Daneman, Derek Jacobi, Robin Bailey, Rupert Davies, Denis Quilley and Bernard Hepton. Some of the actors appearing at Stratford-upon-Avon were L.Olivier, V.Leigh, P.Ashcroft, J.Geilgud, I.Holm, R.Hardy, D.Rigg, A.Bates, M.Ure, D.Sinden and P.Scofield. |
