STAMPS |
HOW IT BEGAN On the left is my first stamp album from 1954. I used to send off for 'Approvals' and packets of 100 for 1s 3d. I've recorded in the front that I had 1141 by 1957. Then I bought two better albums (see below) - red for GB and Commonwealth, green for the Rest of the World. By 1960 other interests took over and it wasn't until 1997 that I started again when I came across a very cheap album in an antique centre full of GB commemoratives. I bought new pages, reorganised them, sourced missing stamps and collected new ones up to the year 2000 so that now I have every special stamp from the 20th century - except for two from 1929 which cost about £500! |
